The controls of Run 3 are straightforward but require precision and quick reflexes. You can use WASD or the arrow keys to move right and left, jump, and control your running speed. Your mission is to keep your character running as far as possible without falling into the void. The gravity-shifting ability is one of the most unique mechanics in the game. This enables you to move toward a wall in the rotating tunnels, and run along different surfaces. However, you must think ahead to run through gradually complex pathways. In addition, unstable and disappearing platforms after being stepped on are introduced to require you to handle them quickly and make split-second decisions to survive.
There are different levels in Run 3 with increasing difficulty. The game offers two main modes, Infinite Mode and Adventure Mode. In Infinite Mode, each level does not have an endpoint, instead, you keep running and the new level will appear right after. You will try to go as far as possible. On the contrary, the Adventure Mode introduces a structured level-based progression system. You may encounter various challenges, such as moving platforms, barriers, and narrow pathways that require precise jumping and gravity-shifting skills. In higher levels, you can unlock new characters with individually special abilities that affect jumping and movement mechanics. There are unique environments on several levels, like dark tunnels where you move with limited visibility.
